'We had a Camp Nou hangover'
FT: Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
Chelsea
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes speaking on BBC Three: "We had to get back into being back in the WSL after games in the Champions League and FA Cup.
"We were asleep in the first 20 minutes and it wasn't good enough.
"I knew we would fight until the end. I think we had a hangover from the Camp Nou but the changes definitely had an impact.
"Sam Kerr is critical. Jessie Flemming had an excellent game too.
"I know we can produce better performances but when you get to this stage of the season you have to get results and I'm confident we can do it [win the title]."
Shots in
Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
You can't question Chelsea's commitment when searching for the winner tonight.
They attempted 25 shots, their highest total in a single match in the English Women's Super League this season.

Liverpool goalkeeper and Player of the Match Faye Kirby speaking on BBC Three: "It's a special occasion for me [making WSL debut] and the girls put in a shift so I thought we deserved something.
"We've got a three game week so we just need to move on.
"Making those saves in the first half drives confidence for me and the team.
"Everyone wants to start so I just need to get my head down and keep pushing."

One ticked off the list. Liverpool were organised and resilient. But Chelsea's march continues.
FULL-TIME

And there is the whistle.
It wasn't pretty but Chelsea get the result they desired to bounce back from their Champions League exit.
Late goals in both halves from Niamh Charles and Sam Kerr cancel out Emma Koivisto's opener for Liverpool.
Chelsea's fight for the title rumbles on.

The Liverpool defence has been exceptionally well-martialled by the debutant Faye Kirby.
She's my player of the match, I'm looking forward to watching more from her.

A player whose name we hardly mentioned in the first half, and only sniffs of chances in the second.
But who's first to react, who's the predator in the box? Sam Kerr.
GOAL Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
Sam Kerr (86 mins)
Chelsea's pressure finally tells.
Jessie Flemming hits the post with a curling shot from the edge of the box and Sam Kerr is quickest to react as she pokes home the rebound.
That might be enough to get the three points.
YELLOW CARD
Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool goalkeeper Faye Kirby seems to be looking for the perfect blade of grass to place the ball as she prepares to take a goal kick.
Referee Abigail Byrne isn't pleased and the yellow card comes out.

If we had VAR, that might have been ruled a goal. It's a very, very tight one.
