I've been going to school within the Chatham County school district my entire life, and I love it. I've almost always been surrounded with fun and reliable peers/teachers. While I haven't always had the best teachers or classes, I feel that I have always gotten something positive out of my courses, such as a new connection to someone or interest in some area or subject. I enjoy being involved in activities/events that have been organized my school's clubs, and I like having a time, like advisem*nt, when I can be informed about such events or even catch up on some homework if I need to. I know that some people feel unsafe in public schools due to occasional issues with drugs/violence, but I feel that many schools have taken measures to prevent these things, such as installing detectors and organizing peer mediation meetings, which I think should be more popular. I love how diverse my district is with its pathways and programs, but I wish we focused more on college prep in high school :)

und the music program’s wonderful and a very interesting educational experience to participate in. It was a wonderful environment and I never once felt like there wasn’t a person (teacher or students) that I couldn’t reach to get the support u needed. I also felt this way academically. However, I would change some duel enrollment cross over communication. Communication between high school news/ meetings did not always line up with college ones. This being one of my only bad experiences in the system.

This is the WORST district I’ve ever worked or had children in. As a teacher, you are constantly battling discipline, staying at school until 6-6:30 with late buses, admin is never available or are unqualified for their roles, board meetings are held at times the general public is at work, misuse of funds, teachers are not given ANY resources (teachers pay teachers is BLOCKED), no time is allotted for conferences in our schedule as teacher work days are filled with trainings and meetings, inclusion classrooms lack special education teachers and paras so more often than not, your child’s IEP is not met. and so much more!
