An example of this is Gotenks, who can go Super Saiyan 3 despite Goten and Trunks being unable to.

If the series somehow shows characters mixing their transformations, then this fusion can potentially merge the outstanding powers of Ultra Instinct and Beast Gohan.

This is because he always knows how to tackle a fight, and his constant need to get even stronger speaks about his work ethic. So, if Goku and Gohan were to fuse, the resulting warrior could make perfect use of Goku's brilliant strategic mind in a fight, mixing it with Gohan's natural intelligence and ability to formulate plans on the fly, perhaps creating the greatest combat genius in the series.

Moreover, Gohan is a half-blooded Saiyan with some of the greatest potential in all of Dragon Ball. By taking his seemingly infinite power reserves and coupling them with Goku's composed nature during a battle, their fusion would have the ability to control this near-infinite potential, making him seemingly never run out of energy or fuel for his attacks!

Would he be stronger than Vegito?

The answer to whether this fusion would be stronger than Vegito would probably come down to the method of the fusion. This is because most of the things said about why this fusion would be so powerful hold equally true for fusing with Vegeta, though Vegito wins out on the concept of the Rival Boost. This is unique to the Potara Earrings since this method of fusion has a special property that gives the resulting fusion an extra boost of power if they are rivals, which, in Goku and Gohan's case, they're not. So, through Potara Fusion, Vegito probably wins.

However, Fusion Dance does not require an extra boost. Although the dance was seen as the inferior method of fusion for the longest time, Dragon Ball Super: Broly retconned this by having Gogeta gain a similar boost upon fusion as Vegito's Rival Boost. Though the conditions of this are unknown, it seems that the Fusion Dance gives a boost regardless of whether the two are rivals or not, so with this method, it could go either way!
